My Approach

The foundation of my work is built on the premise that every person is unique and every challenge requires a tailored approach. While I draw on my 20 years of executive experience to assist in understanding each situation, I see my role as empowering you to find the solutions and achieve your goals. This is achieved through providing guidance, challenging assumptions and questioning behaviours and beliefs. All engagements are flexible and can be structured to accommodate your situation with sessions held virtually or in-person at a convenient location.

My Mission

To foster the development of high performing, values based leaders that create meaning and purpose for their people and great outcomes for their organisation.

What success means to me:

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch Or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!” Ralph Waldo Emerson

High performance shouldn’t come at the cost of your well-being though sadly, this is too often the case. Corporate burnout, high anxiety, and poor mental and physical health are all  common in management roles. Recognising the early signs and reaching out for support is critical in preventing long-term stress burnout.

My approach draws on years of evidence based therapeutic work as a psychologist, and combines this with a deep understanding of workplaces and factors that contribute to declining mental health. With combined counselling and coaching my aim will be to assist you in better managing situations that are causing you stress, and develop cognitive behavioural techniques to build your resilience and improve your reactions to each situation.

Recognising that long-term change is often needed for continued mental and physical well-being, you will receive support in making permanent lifestyle recalibrations that will result in you thriving and not just surviving.

Executive Coaching

There is a reason why there are thousands of leadership and management books published each year, it’s tough work! My vast and varied coaching experience began when I moved onto organisational psychology as a management consultant assisting companies with cultural change, leadership and team development programs. I developed and ran numerous leadership training programs that were complimented with one-on-one coaching.

Having accumulated nearly 20 years CEO experience, I have developed numerous executive teams through coaching and mentoring, and as a Company Director, I have been involved in several formal coaching and mentoring programs including the AICD Observership Program and I still coach future and recently appointed Directors.

Whether you're a new manager or a seasoned executive, personalised coaching can assist in cutting through the noise, gain clarity, sharpen your vision, and enhance decision-making. With improved confidence your ability to influence and achieve your goals will markedly improve. My coaching involves tackling real scenarios and working through alternatives at your pace.

While executive coaching focuses on performance, leadership development, and achieving specific goals using a structured often formal approach, mentoring offers guidance based on personal, shared  experiences, and is less formal and structured.

Professional and personal development means coming out of our comfort zone and taking a few risks. Unfortunately, the settings that we work and live in are not always conducive to supporting our developmental journeys. Receiving individualised and targeted support from someone who’s been on similar journeys, can fast track your progress. My mentoring services offer personalised guidance, support, and real-world experience to help you achieve your goals faster and with greater clarity.

Mentoring provides a sounding board to explore new ways of approaching challenging situations and find new ways to manage our own reactions to them. Mentoring can also provide direction to further your personal and professional growth, and build confidence in the decisions you make.
